Environmental Strategist in Sustainable Urban Development
Do you want to help shape the sustainable future of Lund? As an environmental strategist in sustainable urban development, you will play a central role in driving, developing, and following up on our strategic sustainability efforts with a particular focus on Brunnshög.
About the Role and Your Responsibilities
You will work both strategically and operationally to ensure that goals and plans are integrated into the urban development process. The role combines analysis, coordination, and development with significant room for personal responsibility and initiative.
Part of the position is focused on Brunnshög. You will be responsible for ensuring that the ambitious goals of the Brunnshög program regarding environmental, social, and economic sustainability are integrated into everything from planning to the implementation of construction projects. Through dialogue, networking, and innovation, you will contribute to making Brunnshög a model for sustainable urban development.
In this role, you will develop and implement sustainability goals in various urban development projects, analyze and follow up on goal fulfillment in environmental, social, and economic sustainability, and work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to advance Lund's climate efforts. You will prepare reports, decision-making materials, and communicate results to management, project groups, and other stakeholders.
Monitoring trends and research in sustainable construction is an obvious part of your work, as is contributing to innovation by seeking and participating in externally funded development projects. You will also represent Lund in various contexts, such as through lectures at conferences or guiding visiting groups.
We Are Looking for You
Who has at least three years of experience in sustainability work within the construction and civil engineering sector or urban development, as well as a relevant higher education degree. It is an advantage if you have experience and knowledge of climate calculations for buildings and facilities or circular construction and circular material flows.
To succeed in this role, you need to be a structured and goal-oriented person who enjoys working collaboratively with others. You collaborate attentively and smoothly, communicate clearly, and handle any challenges constructively. You plan and prioritize your work effectively, meet deadlines, and have a strong focus on quality and set goals. At the same time, you have a strategic holistic perspective, see long-term consequences, and adapt your working methods when circumstances or goals change.
You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and you are comfortable speaking in front of others.

About the Recruitment

The department is part of the municipal office and reports to the municipal council as a political committee. The department actively works with other stakeholders, citizens, and visitors to develop the place Lund.
